Victorian Silver Sovereign Case Hallmarked 1897 & 1899

An lovely Victorian solid silver sovereign case. Circular in shape, the case opens nicely operated by pressing a small button that sits on the top of the case. The inside reveals a place to store 3 - 4 sovereigns (see photographs). Clear hallmarks are visible on the inside of the case for Birmingham 1897 and on the body for 1899. The makers mark is AW for Alfred Wigley. The case closes with a nice firm click.
