Antique William IV Mahogany Writing Table

19th century
Description

This is a fine quality antique mahogany writing table in lovely condition & with a beautifully aged & coloured tooled leather writing surface. I would date it to the William IV 1830-40’s period, because of those distinct octagonal turned legs. This desk is deeper than the usual ones of this length, which gives one much more working space. It has rounded corners, finely dovetails drawers with brass handles & brass cupped casters on the legs. It is also free standing, because of the polished back.

Depth – 29 inches, 74 cm

Height – 29 inches, 74 cm

Knee height – 23 inches, 59 cm
