A Lovely Quality Mahogany Globe Wernicke Barristers Bookcase.

1900 - 1920
Description

A lovely quality Globe Wernicke mahogany barristers bookcase. This example is the Rolls Royce of this particular style of bookcase, constructed from the finest mahogany with dentil moulding and acanthus carving to the cornice. Each of the sections has a bevelled glass up and over door, flanked by fluted pilasters. With solid mahogany panelled ends and supported on a stepped base with a mahogany lined drawer and further acanthus carved detail retaining the original silver presentation plaque. English circa 1913

Dimensions: 36" wide x 51" high x 15" deep at the bottom (13" deep at the top)

Condition: This bookcase is in excellent original condition, cleaned and waxed
