Description

Beautiful Regency era fold over games table c.1820. Stands flat against the wall as an elegant console or side table, or turn and open the top to make a useful square table for four with a baize playing surface for cards etc. and a small storage space below. Inlaid brass border frieze and crossbanded edges over a delicate pierced brass inlaid panel to the apron. Unusual shaped column and plinth with further decorative brass inlaid detail to the front and rear and an applied brass moulding. Raised on swept legs with inlaid brass stringing and original brass feet and castors. Obvious fading to the top and some minor repairs to the crossbanding. Otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
