The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The movement is signed and the serial number 8920666 dates it back to 1898. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 52mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold filled and was made by the Dennison Watch Case Company. It was completely normal for the movement and case to originate from different sources, to be assembled and subsequently retailed. The case has some small "dings" and light wear to the top of the back cover but overall it is in nice condition for an 1890s piece.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is a glass lens which is in nice condition.
The signed white enamel dial has a couple of very faint hairline cracks although hardly noticeable to the naked eye.
The watch has its original blued steel hands.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
