Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
It is supported on four tapering splayed solid mahogany legs.
Although originally intended as a stand for a tea urn (the little slide was for a small china bowl to catch drips from the urn tap) nowadays they are most useful as elegant "wine" or side tables.
