Gilt Framed Mirror with Eagle C.1880.

19th century
Description

Good late 19th.c. example of the classic Regency style gilded eagle wall mirror c.1880. 13" diameter convex mirror within a deep moulded frame with ebonized slip and applied ball decorations. Topped with a very impressive gesso work eagle perched with its wings outstretched on a rocky outcrop. Further pierced gesso work frieze below the mirror. Generally very good condition with some minor wear and retouching.
