Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1950s.
As you would expect from Omega the diamonds are bright, crisp and evenly matched, there are 38 diamonds measuring 2.5mm in diamter and are old European cut which are deeper than modern day ones and there is between 2.25cts and 2.5cts in total. It has decorative engraving around the side of the case which is a sign of pure quality. It also has a faceted edged glass to give it that extra sparkle.
The case was bespoke made by Vertex who who the premier makers from the 1930s through to the 1950s.
The bracelet and clasp is of solid 18ct white gold and it just simply glides around the wrist. It has spring links which which shows no wear and they hold tightly against each other. There is a two position double safety clasp.
It fits a wrist size of between 6.25 and 6.75 inches with no stretch and a maximum wrist size of up to 7.5 inches when stretched.
The watch case is large and measures 23mm not including the crown.
It is quite stunning, the dial has been fully restored so is in perfect condition. A new glass has been fitted and the watch and bracelet professionally cleaned and polished so it is absolutely pristine.
It has a top grade caliber 484 17 jewel manual wind movement - it is an absolute gem, sparkling clean and in like new condition, this is a movement from the golden age of Swiss watchmaking.
As you would expect from Omega the watch is fully marked on the dial and movement.
It comes complete with a presentation box to keep your watch in perfect condition.
Omega are one of the most exclusive makers in the world and this watch certainly has that understated elegance which resonates class, truly a piece of jewellery which will never date.
Overall this watch is in beautiful condition and looks as if it was hardly ever worn, it would certainly make a perfect gift.
This watch has been fully and professionally overhauled, the process is highly detailed and meticulous.
The watch is stripped down to its component parts and each part is examined under a microscope for signs of wear, any worn parts are replaced with genuine manufacturers original parts. every part is then thoroughly cleaned in a 3 stage ultrasonic cleaning process.
The movement is then fully assembled using manufacturer approved oils and lubricants and is carried out in a clean room environment. The watch movement is then checked and adjusted for accurate time keeping. The cases are polished and the watch sealed.
Obviously this is not a cheap or quick process which is why our watches are sometimes a little more expensive than others but you can be assured our watches will give reliable and dependable service and will not require any further attention for many years.
