Description

A superb burr walnut Art Deco Period dining suite comprising of a dining table, six chairs and sideboard. The dining table having bowed ends and scalloped corners veneered in beautifully figured burr walnut with an Art Deco inspired chamfered shaped frieze in the centre, standing on elegant cabriole supports with acanthus carved detail. The six matching dining chairs retain their original red leather upholstery with ribbed backs and sprung seats. The leather mellowing to a beautiful aged patination. Each of the chairs are veneered in book matched "butterfly" burr walnut veneers to the backs and also raised on acanthus carved cabriole supports. The accompanying serving sideboard again veneered in the finest burr walnut. The chamfered central doors opening to reveal three mahogany lined drawers, one which is baize lined for cutlery all with beautiful bakelite handles. The serpentine end doors opening to reveal three shelves and a drawer. Supported on acanthus cabriole supports and a burr walnut veneered platform base. This suite is stunning quality throughout. English circa 1920-1930

Condition: This suite is in wonderful condition, there are no rips or tears to the leather just minor age cracks commensurate with age and use
