Antique Mantel Clock

19th century
Description

A Charles X period French mantel clock. A well cast gilt bronze figure and a floral chased gilded bezel surround to the enamel dial. Signed to the dial 'Le Mallett Roi A Paris'. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell with silk pendulum suspension. Circa 1830.

L Mallett of Paris is recorded in Tardys' 'Horologers Francais' book as working 1810-1830.
