~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~

A very large antique French clock in the Gothic style. It is of exquisite quality in gilt bronze, architectural in design with a domed top, blind fret work decoration and scrolling brackets to the sides. The detail is beautifully finished and well polished.

The dial is blind fretted gilt bronze with 12 enamel cartouche numbers and blued steel hands. Please note that this design does not have a glazed bezel.

The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. It is the large plated version of the Pendule de Paris movement with pin-pallet escapement and rack striking. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Condition of the case is excellent, beautifully clean and bright with only slight marks and discolouration. The dial is also in good condition with nibbles to the edges of the cartouches and some hairlining.
