Victorian Mahogany Brass Bound Writing Slope Box with Secret Drawer

Description

A lovely Victorian mahogany writing slope with brass corners, brass escutcheon and matching brass cartouche. Inside, the box is fitted with a good quality green leather writing surface with gold tooled edge. There is also a pen tray and two glass inkwells. Below the writing surface is three small drawers and the far right drawer has a concealed button in that opens a secret drawer below the pen tray.

It is in excellent condition for its age but we do not have a key. The brass has been lightly polished and it displays very well inside and out. There are no major damages to the wood exterior and the patination is beautiful. There are some small knocks and minor signs of age and use but nothing that affects the overall appearance of the box.
