Description

Beautiful mid 18th.c. Welsh oak settle c.1760. High panelled backrest with moulded rails and mullions (also repeated on the rear), with the tops of the rear stiles shaped into a simple silhouette finial. Shaped arms raised on sturdy front stiles over a board seat. Note the unusual carved detail where the arm meets the backrest. Below the seat is enclosed with flat panels on the front and sides, whilst the rear is left open. Fabulous colour and character with some obvious old wear and restorations to the bottom of the front stiles. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
