Antique Sorrento Ware Fan Photo Frame

Description

This most unusual ANTIQUE SORRENTO WARE PHOTOGRAPH FRAME dates from circa 1880.

Made from Olive Wood and inlaid with swallows in flight, the Frame can be opened by releasing the nut on the handle. The seven spines can then be fanned-out and held in place by the tightening of the nut.

It is in good, original condition. A small curlecue is missing from one of the handles (please see photograph). This is not noticeable when the frame is open.

Width (when open): 26 inches (66 cm)

Depth (when closed): 1.25 inches (3.5 cm)
