A 32 Drawer Mahogany Collectors Cabinet by Charles Brady of Edmonton. London. Circa 1900.

1900 - 1920
Description

A thirty two drawer collectors cabinet made by the very famous and sought after charles brady, cabinet maker of edmonton, london. Circa 1900.

This cabinet will be recognised by those familiar with the work of this maker as being absolutely typical of his style, quality and design. The unmistakeable features of this cabinet makers work make it uneccessary for any sort of 'branding' or label for one to be sure of it's provenance.

Brady worked quite prolifically but chose his customers with a degree of care. He would not make for just 'anybody' and it is believed that he would choose to make a cabinet for one of few means over a wealthy and domineering client. These cabinets are for many butterfly collectors, the 'holy grail' and once they have found a home it can be a generation or two before they again come on the market.

This is a good honest example and in original condition. The drawers have been re-papered and could possibly be used straight away. All the drawers are on hidden bearer runners and carry tightly fitting glazed frame tops to protect the contents. The original lock and key are present and working and the whole is in well figured mahogany.

All questions are welcome and safe delivery is our speciality.
