A CLASSIC TWENTY DRAWER COLLECTORS CABINET BY J.T.CROCKETT OF CAVENDISH SQUARE, LONDON. CIRCA 1880.

THIS CABINET IS FASHIONED FROM HIGHLY FIGURED PITCH PINE AND HAS THE, UNIQUE TO CROCKETT, TREFOIL MOULDED GLAZED DOOR. THIS CABINET WAS DESIGNED TO HOUSE A COLLECTION OF BRITISH BUTTERFLIES BUT WILL LEND ITSELF TO A MULTITUDE OF COLLECTING PURSUITS. (THE DRAWERS WILL ACCOMMODATE PINS UP TO 38mm PINS APPLIED FIRMLY BUT NOT FORCIBLY).

IN SUPER CONDITION THE DRAWERS RUN SMOOTHLY ON HIDDEN BEARER RUNNERS. THE ORIGINAL LOCK AND KEY ARE PRESENT AND WORKING AND THE CABINET HAS RETAINED IT'S ORIGINAL FITTED CASTERS FOR EASE OF MOVEMENT.

I HAVE HANDLED A VERY FEW OF THIS PATTERN OVER THE LAST FORTY YEARS BUT HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE RECENTLY TO OBTAIN, ALL SEPARATELY, THREE OR FOUR. THEY ARE GOOD AND ATTRACTIVE CABINETS.
