Hand crafted Edwardian 18 carat gold & platinum opal and old mine cut diamond cluster ring.
The opal is exceptionally beautiful, displaying flashes of green, orange, yellow, turquoise, blue & purple.
The gorgeous old mine cut diamonds possess a special beauty only found in old cut stones
The solid cabochon oval opal is 8 mm x 6.5 mm x 3.5 mm that about 1.00 carat
It is surrounded by twelve wonderful sparkling old mine cut diamonds with a further diamond to each shoulder
The 14 irregular shaped diamonds are particularly fine. They approx. 3 mm diameter with a total weight of circa 1.5 carat. Colour H clarity SI1-2
The opal is collet set in platinum with pretty millegrain detail.
The diamonds are peg & millegrain set in platinum within a beautiful scalloped surround with the design continuing to the shoulders.
The platinum ring head is 15.5 mm x 14 mm and it stands 7mm high. The solid gold shank is stamped 18ct

This is a genuine antique ring that dates to the Edwardian period - around 1910
