A very attractive early 19th century French Empire period gilt bronze ormolu mantel clock surmounted by an unusual figure Diana the Huntress with a rose wreath in her hair instead of the more usual cresent moon, holding a bow and flaming torch. Beautifully cast and chased mounts, superb fire gilt with burnished highlights. Floral wreath bezel, white enamel face with Breguet style moon hands. Eight day silk suspension movement. France, circa 1810.
