Pretty Antique Sterling Silver Lidded Vanity Jar - Flowers & Dragonfly

Description

Dating to the last year of Queen Victoria's reign, this wonderful English cut crystal jar is either very late Victorian or very early Edwardian.

The lid is made from sterling silver with a crisp hallmark for Birmingham 1901 together with the makers mark F B for Fanny Benjamin of 105 Hatton Gardens, London.

The lid is an absolute dream, the type I search high and low for, with an exquisite floral repousse decoration with a charming dragonfly, very Art Nouveau inspired, fitting perfectly with the date of this example.

Apart from being an exquisite work of art, this shape lends itself perfect for storing cotton buds / Q-tips in; measuring 3 3/4" tall x 2 3/4" wide x 1 5/8" deep.

Exquisite, in excellent undamaged condition.
