Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1750s.
With a triangular concave profile spring hinged bayonet, above the brass barrel. The barrel with a ringed flared muzzle, tapering backward to an octagonal stepping. The flintlock mechanism engraved for the maker 'Richardson'. The trigger guard with engraved flower head decoration, finished with an acorn finial.
