Gents silver Art Deco wrist watch, 1927.

The watch has a Swiss 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. There are a couple of empty screw holes on the movement, these are supposed to be empty as the screws are not required as the movement is held in place by the fitted case.

The watch measures 25mm wide excluding the winding crown and 31mm high excluding the lugs. The case is silver and there are hallmarks on the back of the watch for London (import mark) 1927 with an importer's, or sponsor's, mark for George Stockwell.

From 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items, which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail.

The case is in good condition, as is the convex lens.

The dial is in lovely condition with stylised numbers, blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch has a later leather strap.
