The Fancy Fox has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The reverse is similarly decorated with the robes of the masked face wrapping around the back above a scallop shell decorated heel. Hallmarked for London 1883, maker William Hutton & Sons (Edward Hutton).

They measure 20cm (7 7/8") long (one is a few millimetres longer than the other as one of the handles is fractionally longer than the other but this certainly isn't meaningful and is fully original), and 4.7cm (1 7/8") wide. They weigh 120g/3.8ozt. Condition is very good with no damage or repairs, light surface wear and lovely clear hallmarks.
