Collinge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1850s.
Glazed face with brass bezel and moulded mahogany case. Brass 8 day fusee movement with original pendulum. Signed Joyce on the dial, this probably refers to J.B Joyce and Co. of Whitchurch. A small enamel label fixed to the bottom of the case with the number 2428 suggests this clock was probably a railway clock, used in an office or signal box where reliability would be essential. Unfortunately the glass face is badly scratched (could be replaced if preferred) and with a small chip to the face at five o’clock. Otherwise very good original condition, works have been cleaned and overhauled and are sold together with a 12 month guarantee. Winder supplied.
Dimensions: diameter 14½", depth 6".
