Gilded Pier Glass C.1890.

Description

Impressive late 19th.c. gilded mirror or pier glass c.1890. 19" x 23½" oval mirror plate within a deep moulded gesso surround with rope and laurel leaf detail. Rectangular frame with entwined patterned detail to the corners. Very good condition retaining the original gilding, a little rubbed in places to reveal the red ground below. Minor tarnish to the mirror which could be easily replaced if required. Could be hung either landscape or portrait aspect.
