A Carved Oak Renaissance Revival Box

Description

A carved oak Renaissance revival box of small proportions. The front having three panels all finely carved with Romayne type portrait decoration and surrounded by leaves with cherub portraits above. The panels are separated by four carved spiral columns which run down through the molded apron at the base almost like buttresses. The sides have dual panels with carved oak leave decoration. The lid has a molded and carved edge with some age related splits.

The box has fantastic colour and patination and is in excellent condition.
