A rare 17th century English bronze 'marriage' mortar inscribed Edward Alder & Mary 1682.

This is an undocumented mortar and from an unknown foundry.

The mortar has superb quality casting ,colour and patination.

This is a true one off piece and a testament to bronze casting in England in the 17th century.

Overall condition excellent.
