Description

A good quality Bristol longcase clock. An arched pediment surmounted by 3 finials. Corinthium capped twist hood columns. A mahogany case with choice flame veneers and chequered banded inlays. An attractive arched painted dial with country scenes to the arch and corners. Date dial and seconds with blued steel hands. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

James Glass of Bristol is recorded in A J Moores' 'Clockmakers of Bristol' book as working at Old Market Street from 1825-1854.
