Edward Tutet , London , Bracket Clock .

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Its About Time

A very original ''triple pad top'' Bracket Clock of small proportions with strike-silent to arch. The clock has a fine quality verge escapement (original), 8 day fusee movement which has an engraved back-plate with pendulum and small verge ''bob''. The case is ebonised Pear wood. The full brass dial bears the oval cartouche of Edward Tutet, London who was made Master of the Clockmakers Company in 1786. He was a very well respected clock maker in London and worked in Fenchurch Street. This clock dates to around 1770. It''s also worth noting, it has a very strong tick which some people find hypnotic!
