Impressive Edwardian era Arts & Crafts style oak clothes press or wardrobe with drawers c.1910. In two pieces with a generous two door cupboard top fitted for hanging (internal depth 21"), over a base section with two short and two long drawers of graduated depth. Broad flared and moulded cornice over the handsome panelled front and sides with thumb moulded detail to the rails. Retaining the original and unusual wrought steel handles to the doors and drawers. Raised on a flared plinth. Superb quality construction in solid oak throughout. Maker’s badge to the inside for the venerable Yorkshire firm of Johnson & Appleyards Ltd. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
