Description
This is a fine and imposing large coal reciever or purdonium dating from the Regency period, circa 1820. The stylish lidded receptacle has been beautifully polished and lacquered to give an interesting and very current finish that fits beautifully with antique or contemporary living. The purdonium is in good sound order so is a practical useable piece and is most decorative, with handsome acanthus cast feet and handles in the typical Regency taste.
