Description

This stunning Swedish antique mahogany sofa with leather upholstery is of Chippendale design & I would date it to around the 1890-1910 period. It’s in lovely original condition, with feather filled cushions & I believe the leather could be original. The solid mahogany frame is intricately carved above a gadrooned edge & sits on claw & ball feet. This design goes all around the back too. The front of the arms also have some nice carvings. The leather upholstery, which is naturally aged is all in good condition & we have just had it professionally revived & polished. Check out the shaping behind the back cushions & also how the leather is hand studded on to the frame.
