Antique silver Longines pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, signed Longines, which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover upon which is engraved the Longines name together with details of medals won at the Paris Grand Prix in 1900.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 800 silver and there are Continental hallmarks inside the case backs, together with the early Longines mark which includes the initials EFCo for Ernest Francillon, the founder of Longines. The case would have had rose gold wash detail originally but a lot of this has worn off over the years. There are a couple of small indentations to the case back.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in lovely condition with ornate pin-set hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

The watch comes with a single chain, 22cm long including the T-bar and the clasp, hallmarked for 1911.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
