George I Oak Gateleg Drop Flap Dining Table Circa 1700

18th century
Description

An early 18th century oak drop flap dining table, circa 1700, the oval top over a single frieze drawer and baluster turned gate-action base.

Recently removed from a farmhouse in West Wales the table is in very sturdy and original condition. There does appear to be a small amount of replacement parts, such as the drawer liner and the top cross stretchers on the gate-action - the bottom stretchers have chamfered edges but the top rails which are hidden from view have plain edges. There is some small evidence old worm and the top has marks commensurate with it's age.

75cm high, 123cm wide with open gate leg, 100cm long
