Victorian Brass Eagle Inkwell

19th century
Description

A Victorian inkwell with a large winged bird (Eagle?) holding a brass ball container with the original white porcelain ink pot inside.

The whole item measures approximately 13.5cm in height and has a 16.5cm in diameter base.

The details of the bird of excellent, especially the feet and wings with a very good effect of feathers on the body.

The ceramic pot has a small chip on one side - see photo 3 and there are a few marks on the top of the lid of the brass ball commensurate with age.
