In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The centre of the dish is engraved with scrolling initials above the date "Oct 8th 1879 - 1904". Presumably the bowl was made shortly before or after 1904, and this would tie in with the history of the company as well.
The underneath of the dish is clearly hallmarked and stamped "Tilden-Thurber Co. 138S. Sterling. RW". It is a really well made piece, measuring approximately 24cm in diameter and weighing approximately 504g.
It is in excellent condition for its age. There are no major damages and it displays beautifully. There are some faint surface marks and minor signs of age and use and a few surface scratches but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and displays beautifully.
