Gents 1950s Garrard Wrist Watch

Gents 1950s Garrard wrist watch.

The watch has a 17-jewel Swiss hand-winding movement, an ETA 1120, which is working nicely.

The watch measures 31mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel and it is in good condition, just surface marking but nothing serious.

The lens is in good condition.

The dial is signed Garrard. It is in its original finish which has some darkening and marking but still easy to read the time. Original hands (some of the infill has come out of the minute hand).

Garrards was founded in 1735 by George Wickes. They designed, manufactured and retailed luxury jewellery, silver and watches. The company is still trading today and as well has having their headquarters in Mayfair, London, they also have a presence in Harrods, London, Geneva, Lebanon, Qatar, Dubai, Moscow and Hong Kong. Garrard was the Crown Jeweller of the United Kingdom, charged with the upkeep of the British Crown Jewels from 1843 to 2007.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
