Description

A George III Period Gillows Of Lancaster Mahogany Linen Press. The upper section having a moulded cornice above two wonderful Cuban mahogany panelled doors, opening to reveal four oak lined slides retaining their original blue paper linings, typical of Gillows. The lower section having an arrangement of two short and two long rectangular oak lined drawers retaining their original brass swan neck handles, one of them stamped Gillows, Lancaster. Raised on the original bracket feet with Cuban mahogany sides. Completely original condition, wonderful colour and patination. A fine example of furniture by this esteemed cabinet maker from this period. English circa 1770-1780
