A rare and stunning original antique French clock set by A.D. Mougin.
It is in the classical style of Louis XVI with floral swags, arched top surmounted by an enamel urn. Candelabra have enamel mounted bases and urns and have four branches of stylised acanthus.

The dial is enamel on copper with a bronze centre with enamel work. It is complete with original finely fretted blued steel hands and convex glass to the hobnail bezel..
The French movement is of high quality and is by A.D. Mougin. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker and thoroughly tested. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video of the clock running on our website.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The enamel is also in excellent condition with no major damage. The dial has some slight nibbles around the winding holes.

A D Mougin clockmaker's mark on the movement backplate.
