Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco jewellery from the 1930s is characterised by linear geometry, symmetry, and a transition towards streamlined modernism. Designs frequently featured platinum settings, geometric gemstone arrangements, fine millegrain bordering, and clean, architectural silhouettes.

Bar brooches of this period were predominantly crafted from platinum or 18ct white gold to achieve a bright, durable white setting. Diamonds during this era were typically hand-cut as old European or single cuts, held in place by grain or channel settings with millegrain detailing.

Authentic pieces display period-appropriate diamond cuts with high crowns and small tables, alongside hand-applied millegrain embellishments along the metal borders. Period hallmarks, makers marks, platinum stamps, and historic clasp mechanisms such as safety lever catches further indicate age.

When not worn, an antique diamond brooch can be displayed on a velvet watch pillow, mounted inside a glass shadow box frame, or layered on a mirrored vanity tray on a dressing table to serve as a decorative focal point.

Clean gently using lukewarm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush to clear dust behind gemstone settings. Store individually in a lined jewellery box to prevent diamonds from scratching other pieces, and periodically have the clasp and settings inspected by a jeweller.
