The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The watch has a nicely jewelled Swiss stem-winding movement , calibre 998, which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has some scratching.
Cyma was founded by two brothers, Joseph and Theodore Schwob, in 1862.
The Cyma name was officially registered in 1903. Sandoz used the most modern of manufacturing processes and produced very high quality time-pieces, trademarked as Tavannes, Cyma and Cyma Tavannes. Their excellent reputation for quality meant that by 1910, Tavannes / Cyma were one of the largest Swiss watch manufacturers in existence. State, or Stayte, was one of the brand names used by the company.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the loop. The case is gold plated and was made by the Illinois Watch Case Company. It is in good condition with just light surface marks and a couple of small "dings" but nothing serious at all.

The winding crown pushes in to release the front cover. Inside there is a glass lens which is in nice condition.
The dial is in nice condition and it has its original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
