Description

A superb quality burr walnut and inlaid Victorian period side cabinet attributed to Gillow. Of bombe form with serpentine ends. The shaped top having cross grain moulded edge with fine burr walnut veneers and inset kingwood crossbanding between boxwood line inlay. The cushion moulded frieze with ormolu mounts and further kingwood banding, the stiles with fine ormolu female headed mounts. The centre having 2 shaped and glazed doors with conforming serpentine shaped end doors. The interior having 2 plate glass shelves to each section ( not all shelves shown) with plate mirrored floor and fabric lined back. The whole stands on a shaped plinth base with further kingwood banding. Condition - Very good, re-lined in a good quality neutral coloured fabric, with working locks and keys.
