19th.c. French Empire Style Double Bed C.1890.

Description

Very impressive late 19th.c. French Empire style double bed c.1890. Head, foot and sides in highly figured amboyna wood veneers on walnut ground. Inlaid with a splendid pair of Imperial eagles on the headboard. Inlaid satinwood stringing and rosewood borders with neat papyrus flower detail to the head and footboards. With a large gilded ormolu mount to the footboard. Raised on short tapering square legs, veneered to match, with brass paw feet. To take a 60" x 74" mattress. Excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
