Rowland Henry Hill born1873.Landscape and figure painter in oil and watercolour.Born in Halifax he studied at the Halifax and Bradford School of Art,and at the Herkomer School Bushey.Exhibited at the RA from 1897(21works) in the provinces and the Paris Salon.He lived at Hinderwell near Staithes and was a leading figure in the Staithes School of Artists.’Whitby Harbour’ signed watercolour dated 1933, image size 19 x28cms,framed size 26x35cms.A truly beautiful example of the artist’s work.
