French Pink Velvet Upholstered Sofa in Louis Xv Style

1900 - 1920
Description

A Vintage French canapé / sofa in Louis XV style, the cream painted channel moulded frame carved with foliate detailing, upholstered in pink velvet with nailed edges and with loose feather filled cushion.

This sofa dates from circa 1920-30 and is in its original velvet fabric. The seat is nice and deep and comfortable. It is in good overall condition, the velvet is clean but a little faded in places, the loose seat cushion has a small repair towards the back on one side and a repair and a few blemishes on the other.

78cm high, the seat 134cm long, 47cm deep and 33cm high.

Aubusson tapestry cushions available separately.,
