Edwardian Silver Double Stamp Box with Glass Moistener by Deakin & Francis, Birmingham 1904

Description

This is a rare and fabulous Edwardian silver two compartment stamp box complete with glass barrel shaped moistener. The sloped sprung hinged cover opening to reveal a gilt interior. The tubular glass barrel shaped moistener housed in a separate rectangular tray.

Hallmarks:

D&F for Deakin & Francis.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "e" for 1904.

Dimensions:

Length: 7cm / 2.6 inches.

Width: 5cm / 2 inches.

Maximum height: 4cm / 1.2 inches.

Condition:

Very good

No dents.

Strong hinge.

Gilt interior very bright.
