In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
It has four legs and swivels on a large bolt and also tilts backwards when you lean back in the chair. The height is adjustable by swivelling it up or down on the bolt.
It is a good generous size, approximately 35 1/2" (90cm) high, 22 1/2" (57cm) wide across the arms and the seat is approximately 20" (51cm) deep.
It is in excellent condition for its age. It has developed a lovely aged patina and is structurally very sound. It is not without a few small marks here and there and an old repaired split on one side but nothing untoward for a chair of this age. The seat is in good condition with no splits or tears and the mechanism for tilting and swivelling is in good strong working order.
