The oval cut glass body has a hobnail cut decoration and a classic star cut base. The silver mount has a domed gadrooned lid with silver finial and the handle is decorated with Acanthus Leaf and Scroll decoration together with geometric decoration along its length.
This beautiful Jug is in excellent condition with no damage to the glass whatsoever and very little sign of wear or use which is unusual given this is now over 125 years old.
A fabulous high quality Antique Silver Mounted Claret Jug which would look superb in any setting.
