Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The seat is upholstered in a real tan leather and the chair is solid and sturdy. It would make a very stylish desk chair.

Solid and sturdy. General wear and marks commensurate with age. Small section missing where arm meets seat rail (see photo). Would have originally been caned -small holes to seat rail where these would have been. I t has been refinished at some point.
