A Mahogany Victorian Period Antique Writing Desk

19th century
Description

A mahogany Victorian Period antique writing desk. Having a rectangular top with rounded corners with a green leather writing surface with blind tooled detail and having an arrangement of six working drawers, three to the frieze and three to the left hand pedestal. The right hand pedestal has three "Dummy" drawers which are actually a cupboard enclosing sliding trays. The drawers having mahogany linings and the original aesthetic period brass handles and escutcheons, with working locks and key. With polished sides and reverse and supported on a mahogany veneered plinth with concealed castors. English circa 1870

Dimensions: 48" wide x 24" deep x 30" high (knee hole 25" high x 20" wide)

Condition: This desk is in superb original condition, cleaned and waxed. The knee hole drawer does not lock as it has a bramagh lock and there is no key for this lock
