Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1800s.

The dual compartments inside are topped with lids in Satinwood with Rosewood cross-banding (both lids have a couple of age / grain cracks to the veneer, stable but mentioned for accuracy), each lid has a small turned ivory knob which compliments the diamond shaped ivory escutcheon.
The caddy stands on four brass ball feet and both sides have a wonderful cast brass lion's head handle.
Excellent condition, measuring 8" x 5" x 5 3/4" tall.
